Penelope

Our new puppy Penelope (full name: Duchess Penelope, nickname: Neli P). She is an English Cocker Spaniel, pictured here at 10 weeks old.

I have always wanted an English Cocker Spaniel, but they are somewhat rare in the US, so last weekend I thought I'd do some looking around to see when a black cocker puppy would be available in the Northwest area. It just so happened that Penelope was the only black cocker in her litter, and the breeder wasn't expecting another litter until four months from now. We couldn't wait four months to get a new dog...I've always owned a dog!...so we brought home Penelope last Saturday. What a cutie! Of course we still miss Sweetie a lot, but having a new puppy is really helping us to deal with the loss.
